About Us
Our Company
We Understand
When disasters occur, local citizens, the United States federal, state and local governments and the private sector join in partnership as a community to provide individual and public assistance. For over a century, WSP has worked in similar partnerships with communities around the world. We recognize the technical as well as the public policy fundamentals inherent to inspect, repair, upgrade and rebuild a community’s damaged infrastructure. More importantly, we are extremely sensitive to the trauma and suffering families endure in the wake of a catastrophic event. WSP understands how essential it is to field a qualified team to provide rapid, technically consistent and quality results.
We Value Our Reputation
We work with honesty and integrity at all times. We understand that the future of our business depends upon the trust of our clients and other stakeholders and our reputation for technical expertise and reliable, ethical conduct.
We Are Future ReadyTM
Our 24/7/365 scalable emergency operations and our value-added, Future ReadyTM culture and business approach leverages WSP’s full suite of disaster response capabilities. Combined with a large, diverse and readily available cadre of field-ready personnel across the U.S and territories, WSP can provide our clients and stakeholders the staffing support they need, when it is needed most, and under challenging conditions.
We Support FEMA: In times of presidentially declared emergencies or natural disasters, the Robert T. Stafford Act authorizes FEMA to provide financial assistance to homeowners and renters whose residences have been ravaged by the incident. To assist in this effort, FEMA contracts with WSP to provide inspection services to assess and quantify the damages sustained. The information collected by WSP inspections is used to determine the type and amount of assistance for disaster survivors.
We Respond
WSP’s ability to respond to a variety of high-profile disasters has been proven time and again. WSP’s cadre of trained inspectors are located throughout the U.S. and its territories. Our company has 27 years of experience with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) public and individual assistance programs where we have responded to typhoons in the South Pacific, wildfires throughout the western states, earthquakes in Puerto Rico and Virginia, flooding in Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee, hurricane responses to Katrina, Sandy, Harvey, Irma, Maria, Florence, Ida and many more. Our team also supported the response and recovery efforts following the 2001 World Trade Center attack in New York City and has supported the coronavirus response since 2020.
We Are Experienced
WSP USA Services Inc. is providing FEMA with disaster housing inspection services on a fifth consecutive five-year nationwide contract to support FEMA’s Individual Housing Program (IHP). Our team is in a continual state of readiness and can deploy to a disaster site and complete inspections immediately upon notification from FEMA. WSP inspectors use government furnished tablet computers loaded with FEMA software to record inspections. All data collected is transmitted electronically to a central processing center where inspections are reviewed by quality analysts prior to submittal to FEMA.
